How to Choose the Right Chair Seat Height
To check whether a chair's seat height is suitable, sit with both feet flat on the floor. You can wear your usual slippers. Your thighs and lower legs should form roughly a 90-degree angle. If you can sit comfortably in this position, the seat height may be a good fit.
Many chairs have a seat height of around 45–46 cm. For a shorter user, especially someone around 5 ft 3 in or under, this may leave their feet dangling. Sitting that way for a long time can be uncomfortable, and it may be harder to stand steadily afterwards.
A chair with a seat height of around 42–43 cm may be more suitable for some shorter users. Check that the user's feet rest comfortably on the floor and that the chair supports their back. The best fit depends on the user's proportions, not height alone.
